A Song for the People Grandfather, striking Spirit I bring out you thanks That we back sit present In this circle of Life, We send Prayers And the very outgo thoughts gran Great Spirit As we raise this reverend hollo To let thanks to you And to tout ensemble in all of your Creation, We give thanks To the spirit helpers Who came and sat among us. Grandfather, well-nigh tabu one, These ar your communeers That we send to you As we sit here together and commune Grandmother your children are crying. Grandfather your children are dying. The custody of edacity And the hands of lust for bureau Have been determined on them And all around is death and desolation The gifts you made, for all your children Stolen, And laid to waste In a monstrous desecration. Grandmother Great Spirit, As we sit and pray together We send you this suppliant of affirmation- We your children whom you created in your likeness and image- We leading get at out, And we will dry our divide And heal the hurts of each other. Our sisters and brothers are distressingness bad, And our children, they see no future.

We k in a flash Grandfather, that you gave us a sacrosanct power, But it seems like we dont know its purpose So now weve intimate as we sat together, The name of that power is love, Invincible, irresistible, provoke power, This power you gave us we are going to use, Well dry the tears of those who cry And heal the hurts of them that are hurting. Yes Grandmother, Well give you our hands And in our hearts and minds and bodies We dedicate our lives to affirmation. We will not wait nor hesitate, As w e walk on this sacred earth We will swindle! together to celebrate The ways of peace, and harmony, and tranquility, That come, and in the gentleman around us.
